Speaking of pictures, I've made two entries into the "Myths and Legends: An Illustration Contest". The first piece is "Siren Suicide" which is based off of the myth that, should a ship sail by the sirens unharmed, the sirens will throw themselves into the sea in protest and drown. The second piece is "Thokk" based off of the myth about the death of Baldur, in which the giantess Thokk (who was probably Loki in disguise) refuses to weep for Baldur's death and, thus, Baldur can not be brought back from the dead. I will probably make a third entry, but I'm not sure. Suggestions for a myth to base a picture off of would be welcome!
Work's going well, too. I'm back at my previous summer job, typing away and filing things and naming the various bits of machinery around me (Phone is Todd, Printer is Jimmy, Harddrive is Steve, Moniter is Mathilda) as well as the odd plant (Left potted plant is Sam, Right potted plant is Erica). I blame that entirely on energy drinks and the fact that I occasionally finish my work early... And I'm very sad that my boss won't let me name the fridge or the coffee pot.
As for my writing... It's coming along. I'm working out the plotline for my novel at the moment, though I've done an introduction to the novel already, and I'm doing a fair bit of research into local Native mythology for the novel, too. So far, so good. I've done a few character designs, but, as per usual, my scanner loathes the very sight of me, so I'll probably end up giving my pics to *megami-no-yorokobi to scan in for me. Someone remind me to bake her cookies!
And to finish this all off, I've been officially accepted into UVic, my courses have been registered, and I've found some friends of the family near the university who'll let me mooch real food off of them now and then! I'm all set! Can't wait (whilst simultaneously being absolutely terrified)!
Skaal!

What a shame, what a shame,
To judge a life that you can't change

I'm not really that full of myself XD
I like to joke about it though, the reactions you get sometimes are amusing.

Death, be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;
For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
...But don't tell anyone that! They think I'm egotistical -it's hilarious!
