Gods, In Passing: Pan

Description

Full-view for awesomeness.

Character design for the Greek god Pan, son of Hermes, as he appears in "Gods, In Passing". He's a relatively minor character overall, but fun to work with.

Within the novel, he's prone to unleashing Panic upon large crowds of mortals when bored, actively tries to sabotage Apollo's lyre, and is particularly fond of messing with mortals' heads. One of his favourite instances of messing with a mortal dates back to Ancient Rome (AD 14-37) where he told a sailor, Thamus, (in the guise of a disembodied divine voice) that "The great god Pan is dead" and to spread the news.

Pan was pleasantly surprised by how much he was missed by the mortals who heard the news, and so he refrained from smiting Thamus for blasphemy (as was his original plan; he's a bit of a jerk) out of amusement.

This story earned Pan his latest nickname of "undead zombie goat man" from Sage, the protagonist.

Also, don't mention the horns. He's touchy about those.
